Islington N1 bathroom project
Black-framed glazing, brushed-gold fittings and a warm timber vanity give this compact Islington bathroom a distinctive, balanced finish.
The design
Warm metal, crisp lines and better use of space
The original bathroom felt narrow and visually busy. The new design uses white metro tiles to keep the room bright, then introduces contrast through black-framed glazing and carefully coordinated brushed-gold brassware.
A wall-mounted tap and vessel basin free up useful surface space on the timber vanity. The illuminated mirror, concealed flush plate and simple shower screen bring the room together without making it feel over-designed.
- Compact layout planned around daily use
- Careful waterproofing and measured tile setting-out
- Coordinated plumbing, lighting, glazing and finishing
- Final snagging, testing and clean before handover
Before the renovation
The original room and shower layout
The existing bathroom had ageing fittings, exposed storage and a dark horizontal tile band that made the compact room feel more enclosed. These are genuine photographs from before the renovation.
